My dear beekeepers, I am very glad to be able to greet you and wish you good health. Not just good health, but also good work with your bees. Not just good work and good health, but I wish you to produce plenty of bee products with your bees, Honey, pollen, propolis, wax, and even royal jelly. And with your bees, may you cover all of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all the forests and meadows. I am Abdullah Vejzović, born in the village of Tarevo, municipality of Kladanj. By tradition I was born into a beekeeping family, where his brothers also kept bees. After my grandfather, his brothers inherited the practice, and on the other side, my maternal grandfather also kept bees. After that grandfather, my uncle Ahmet inherited it and practiced beekeeping until his death. I have been keeping bees for 34 years now. I keep bees on the slopes of Konjuh mountain, through my long years of practice. I have always had between 70 and 100, at most up to 140 hives. In the last few years I have also been giving lectures on practical beekeeping. My specialty is technique and technology. Technology for higher yields in an optimal year. To get from 50 to 200 or even more kilograms of honey, if nature provides it. And if nature doesn't provide, there is no technique or technology that will give results. At my lectures, beekeepers encourage me to write a book or record a film about practical beekeeping. I have decided to record a film. The goal of this film is to help most beekeepers achieve more results in their apiaries with less sweat — more honey, pollen, propolis. In this film, I will roughly cover the complete beekeeping year, from the first early spring cleansing flight. All the way to wintering. So that most beekeepers will be able to watch this film. Although I won't be able to put everything from my practice into it, because the film would last much longer. But even this 90-minute film will give a lot to smart beekeepers. Because our people say wisely. A smart person needs just a hint to understand. And most beekeepers will roughly understand this film of mine. If anything is unclear, you can ask by phone, or come in person. I am willing to pass on and share all my knowledge from this film and beyond. Thank you.

Guide

About the author and the purpose of this guide

Abdulah Vejzovic was born in the village of Tarevo, municipality of Kladanj. He comes from a beekeeping family — grandfathers and uncles on both sides were beekeepers. This tradition, passed down from generation to generation, shaped the decades of experience upon which this guide is based.

With 34 years of active beekeeping on the slopes of Konjuh mountain, the author has always maintained between 70 and 140 hives. His specialty is technique and technology for higher yields — in an optimal year, it is possible to achieve from 50 to as much as 200 or more kilograms of honey per hive. However, as the author emphasizes, if there is no nectar flow in nature, no technique will produce results.

The goal of this guide is to help beekeepers achieve better results in their apiaries with less physical effort — more honey, pollen, and propolis. It covers the complete beekeeping year, from the first cleansing flight in early spring all the way to wintering.
